Pternopetalum vulgare merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Apiaceae (suku adas-adasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Nepal timur hingga China tengah dan timur-tengah dan Myanmar utara. Nama ilmiah Pternopetalum vulgare diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Stephen Troyte Dunn pada tahun 1933.
