Pterocactus australis merupakan tumbuhan sukulen berbentuk perdu kecil dari famili Cactaceae (suku kaktus-kaktusan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Chili selatan hingga Argentina selatan. Nama ilmiah Pterocactus australis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Frédéric Albert Constantin Weber pada tahun 1950.
