Pterygodium catholicum merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Orchidaceae (suku anggrek-anggrekan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk bonggol berbentuk umbi. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape barat daya dan selatan. Nama ilmiah Pterygodium catholicum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Olof Peter Swartz pada tahun 1800.
