Ptilostemon rhiphaeus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Maroko hingga Aljazair. Nama ilmiah Ptilostemon rhiphaeus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carlos Pau pada tahun 1973.
