Ptychopetalum petiolatum merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Olacaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Nigeria selatan hingga kawasan tropis Afrika bagian barat-tengah. Nama ilmiah Ptychopetalum petiolatum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Daniel Oliver pada tahun 1868.
