Quercus muehlenbergii merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Fagaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Ontario selatan hingga Amerika Serikat bagian tengah dan timur, Meksiko timur laut (hingga Veracruz). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan chinkapin oak. Nama ilmiah Quercus muehlenbergii diperkenalkan oleh Georg Engelmann pada tahun 1877.
