Quercus petraea merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Fagaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eropa hingga Iran utara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan sessile oak atau durmast oak. Nama ilmiah Quercus petraea diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Heinrich Gottfried von Mattuschka pada tahun 1784.
