Ranunculus cryptanthus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Ranunculaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma pegunungan tropis di kawasan tropis Afrika bagian timur (Gn. Elgon). Nama ilmiah Ranunculus cryptanthus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Edgar Wolston Bertram Handsley Milne-Redhead pada tahun 1951.
