Rhododendron catawbiense merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Ericaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari West Virginia hingga Amerika Serikat bagian tenggara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan catawba rosebay. Nama ilmiah Rhododendron catawbiense diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama André Michaux pada tahun 1803.
