Rhynchosia difformis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Amerika Serikat bagian tenggara hingga Meksiko tengah dan timur laut. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan doubleform snoutbean. Nama ilmiah Rhynchosia difformis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Stephen Elliott pada tahun 1825.
