Rhynchospora macrochaeta merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim dingin (subalpin atau subarktik) dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kosta Rika hingga Guyana dan Bolivia. Nama ilmiah Rhynchospora macrochaeta diperkenalkan oleh Ernst Gottlieb von Steudel pada tahun 1873.
