Rhynchospora scutellata merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis. Nama ilmiah Rhynchospora scutellata diperkenalkan oleh August Heinrich Rudolf Grisebach pada tahun 1866.
