Ribes ciliatum merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Grossulariaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga Guatemala. Nama ilmiah Ribes ciliatum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Alexander von Humboldt pada tahun 1819.
