Ricinocarpos velutinus merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Australia barat-barat-daya. Nama ilmiah Ricinocarpos velutinus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Ferdinand von Mueller pada tahun 1875.
