Rochefortia acanthophora merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Boraginaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Karibia. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan greenheart ebony. Nama ilmiah Rochefortia acanthophora pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Alphonse Louis Pierre Pyrame de Candolle pada tahun 1862.
