Rorippa africana merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Brassicaceae (suku sawi-sawian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Maroko. Nama ilmiah Rorippa africana diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Josias Braun-Blanquet pada tahun 1926.
