Rorippa icarica merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Brassicaceae (suku sawi-sawian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Kepulauan Aegea timur. Nama ilmiah Rorippa icarica diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Karl Heinz Rechinger pada tahun 1936.
