Rosa ecae merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Rosaceae (suku mawar-mawaran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Afghanistan hingga Asia tengah dan Himalaya barat. Nama ilmiah Rosa ecae pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis James Edward Tierney Aitchison pada tahun 1880.
