Rosa foetida adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Rosaceae (suku mawar-mawaran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Asia barat dan tengah hingga Himalaya barat. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan austrian-brier. Nama ilmiah Rosa foetida pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Johann Herrmann pada tahun 1762.
