Rosa micrantha merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Rosaceae (suku mawar-mawaran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eropa, Kaukasia, hingga Afrika barat laut. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan smallflower sweetbrier. Nama ilmiah Rosa micrantha diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama William Borrer pada tahun 1813.
