Rostellularia procumbens merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan Asia tropis dan subtropis hingga China bagian tengah. Nama ilmiah Rostellularia procumbens diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Christian Gottfried Daniel Nees von Esenbeck pada tahun 1847.
