Rubus repens merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Rosaceae (suku mawar-mawaran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kanada bagian timur hingga Amerika Serikat timur dan timur-tengah laut. Nama ilmiah Rubus repens pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Ernst Otto Kuntze pada tahun 1891.
