Rubus schiedeanus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Rosaceae (suku mawar-mawaran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga Guatemala. Nama ilmiah Rubus schiedeanus diperkenalkan oleh Ernst Gottlieb von Steudel pada tahun 1841.
