Rudbeckia hirta merupakan tumbuhan semusim atau menahun dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Amerika Serikat timur. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan blackeyed susan. Nama ilmiah Rudbeckia hirta diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
