Ruellia californica adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah Meksiko barat laut. Nama ilmiah Ruellia californica diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama George Vasey pada tahun 1924.
