Ruellia exilis merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kosta Rika. Nama ilmiah Ruellia exilis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Lucinda A. McDade pada tahun 2007.
