Ruellia floribunda merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Galápagos, Ekuador, hingga Peru. Nama ilmiah Ruellia floribunda diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama William Jackson Hooker pada tahun 1831.
