Ruellia foetida adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Meksiko. Nama ilmiah Ruellia foetida diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Alexander von Humboldt pada tahun 1809.
