Ruellia galeottii merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Meksiko tengah dan barat daya. Nama ilmiah Ruellia galeottii diperkenalkan oleh Emery Clarence Leonard pada tahun 1938.
