Ruellia inflata merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di kawasan tropis Amerika selatan. Nama ilmiah Ruellia inflata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Louis Claude Marie Richard pada tahun 1792.
