Ruellia jussieuoides merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga kawasan tropis Amerika selatan. Nama ilmiah Ruellia jussieuoides diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Diederich Franz Leonhard von Schlechtendal pada tahun 1831.
