Ruellia scabrifolia merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Papua. Nama ilmiah Ruellia scabrifolia diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Theodoric Valeton pada tahun 1907.
