Ruellia tetrastichantha merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kosta Rika hingga Venezuela. Nama ilmiah Ruellia tetrastichantha diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Gustav Lindau pada tahun 1900.
