Rumex hypogaeus merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Polygonaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Afrika Selatan. Nama ilmiah Rumex hypogaeus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Tanja M. Schuster pada tahun 2015.
