Rumex japonicus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Polygonaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Rusia Timur Jauh hingga Vietnam dan wilayah Asia Timur yang beriklim sedang. Nama ilmiah Rumex japonicus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Maarten Houttuyn pada tahun 1777.
