Sapium sceleratum merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil timur laut (termasuk Fernando de Noronha),. Nama ilmiah Sapium sceleratum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Henry Nicholas Ridley pada tahun 1890.
