Saracha spinosa merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Solanaceae (suku terong-terongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Peru. Nama ilmiah Saracha spinosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Lebrecht Udo Dammer pada tahun 1987.
