Saranthe glumacea merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Marantaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Brazil (Rio de Janeiro). Nama ilmiah Saranthe glumacea pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Karl Heinrich Emil Koch pada tahun 1902.
