Katuk adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan perdu atau pohon dari famili Phyllanthaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh menjalar. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah. Nama ilmiah Sauropus androgynus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Elmer Drew Merrill pada tahun 1903.
