Saussurea kurilensis merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Kepulauan Kuril selatan. Nama ilmiah Saussurea kurilensis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Misao Tatewaki pada tahun 1933.
