Saussurea tomentosa merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Rusia Timur Jauh hingga Korea Utara. Nama ilmiah Saussurea tomentosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Vladimir Leontyevich Komarov pada tahun 1921.
