Scaphopetalum discolor merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Malvaceae (suku kapas-kapasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah RD Kongo tengah. Nama ilmiah Scaphopetalum discolor pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Heinrich Gustav Adolf Engler pada tahun 1912.
