Schaefferia frutescens merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Celastraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan florida boxwood. Nama ilmiah Schaefferia frutescens pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Nikolaus Joseph von Jacquin pada tahun 1760.
