Schizaea elegans merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Schizaeaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko tengah hingga kawasan tropis Amerika. Nama ilmiah Schizaea elegans diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Martin Vahl pada tahun 1801.
