Schoenus exilis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape barat daya. Nama ilmiah Schoenus exilis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Margaret Rutherford Bryan Levyns pada tahun 2017.
