Sciodaphyllum ferrugineum merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Araliaceae (suku mangkok-mangkokan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kolombia hingga Ekuador. Nama ilmiah Sciodaphyllum ferrugineum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Ludwig von Willdenow pada tahun 1854.
