Scleria carphiformis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah. Nama ilmiah Scleria carphiformis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Henry Nicholas Ridley pada tahun 1915.
