Scleria laxa merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah. Nama ilmiah Scleria laxa diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Robert Brown pada tahun 1810.
