Scleria spicata merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah. Nama ilmiah Scleria spicata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Curt Polycarp Joachim Sprengel pada tahun 1929.
