Scleria testacea merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan hawai'i nutrush. Nama ilmiah Scleria testacea diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Christian Gottfried Daniel Nees von Esenbeck pada tahun 1837.
